Nick Quigley supports Fazakerley9

English Light Middleweight title contender and Liverpool boxer Nick Quigley supports Fazakerley9

Nick Quigley, from Liverpool entered the ring for his title fight with Erick Ochieng in London wearing a t-shirt remembering James McVey and the Fazakerley9 charity set up in his honour.

Going into the title fight with Ochieng, Nick had won 10 of his 11 previous fights, with his only loss being the final of the Prizefighter Light Middleweights tournament back in September and screened on Sky. The Ochieng bout took place at York Hall, Bethnal Green, London on 28th Jan and was also screened on Sky Sports.

To have Nick support Fazakerley9 is testament to his great character and Nick is also joining the charity in its up and coming Three Peaks Challenge in June.

Fazakerely9 would like to express our thanks to Nick, Nick’s trainer and father Nick Senior and to all the boxers at Invictus Gym Liverpool, whom have all shown us some fantastic support.

The Three Peaks Challenge is an event where fazakerley9 plus some 30 of the charities friends and supporters (including Nick) will attempt to climb the highest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales all within 24 hours. The walkers will climb each peak in turn, and are driven from the foot of one mountain to the next. The three peaks are:

Ben Nevis (1,344 metres, 4,409 ft), the highest mountain in Scotland
Scafell Pike (978 m, 3,209 ft), the highest mountain in England
Snowdon / Yr Wyddfa (1,085 m, 3,560 ft), the highest mountain in Wales

The total distance walked is estimated at 42-44km, or 26-27 miles with a total ascent of some 10,000 feet.

We are currently planning the logistics of the Three Peaks Challenge and would welcome any support!
