Join us for an amazing night of Big City Boxing as Boxers come together to raise money for Fazakerley 9 and Cash for Kids Charities. The Liverpool Adelphi Hotel will play host to 10 bouts of 3 x 2 minute rounds on Saturday 8th June. Not only will guests enjoy a three course meal and the thrill of the fights, but they will also be entertained by Top Comedian Jimmy Bright.   Jamie McVey, Event Organiser and Boxer on the night said “It’s going to be a great night for two great causes. At the moment Liverpool is a hot bed of British boxing champions with David Price, Tony Bellew, and Kevin Satchel all holding belts, with hopefully more to come! We hope that they can all join us on the night if commitments allow.   We’ve had amazing support from local people, which is the norm in Merseyside as people get behind great causes. Derry Mathews has been training me at his gym, the DM Fitness Centre on Great Homer Street, Elitist Boxing are providing my head guards and gloves for the show and Suzi Wong from Bolton is making my shorts for the event.   We have had requests from boxers from all over the region wanting to be a part of this show; it’s going to be a brilliant evening.”   Get your tickets now for this not to be missed event at the Liverpool Adelphi Hotel on Saturday 8th June. Tickets are priced at £40 each or £400 for a table of 10 and includes a three course meal, 10 bouts of boxing and entertainment from top Comedian Jimmy Bright.    Fazakerley 9 and Cash for Kids - Big City Boxing

Fazakerley9 at Liverpool FC’s Melwood

FAZAKERLEY9 was at Liverpool FC’s training ground Melwood today for a photo session with charity patrons Lucas Leiva and Steve Rotherham MP and an interview with LFC TV.

LFC TV will announce to us shortly when the interview will be shown and Fazakerley9 would like to thank all the team at LFC TV for their help, support and their very valuable time today.

At Melwood, Fazakerley9’s Jamie McVey also gave interviews to Radio City and the Liverpool Echo to mark the official media launch of the charity and to announce some of the charity events for 2012, which include the Three Peaks Challenge and competing in the Liverpool Triathlon amongst others.

Many thanks to John at the Echo and to Radio City who has both given us so much support during the formation of the charity -so keep an eye out for the press mentions- and last by no means least, we would like to give special thanks to both Lucas and Steve for their continued support and tome out from their very busy schedules today.

English Light Middleweight title contender and Liverpool boxer Nick Quigley supports Fazakerley9
Nick Quigley, from Liverpool entered the ring for his title fight with Erick Ochieng in London wearing a t-shirt remembering James McVey and the Fazakerley9 charity set up in his honour.
Going into the title fight with Ochieng, Nick had won 10 of his 11 previous fights, with his only loss being the final of the Prizefighter Light Middleweights tournament back in September and screened on Sky. The Ochieng bout took place at York Hall, Bethnal Green, London on 28th Jan and was also screened on Sky Sports.
To have Nick support Fazakerley9 is testament to his great character and Nick is also joining the charity in its up and coming Three Peaks Challenge in June.
Fazakerely9 would like to express our thanks to Nick, Nick’s trainer and father Nick Senior and to all the boxers at Invictus Gym Liverpool, whom have all shown us some fantastic support.
